I would like to think that I get all fancied up for Christmas like the days of yesteryear. Gone are the days of getting a new outfit just for Christmas and being pretty all day long. Nope, I'm not even going to pretend that I get dolled up; I'm in my pajamas for most of the holidays and only get dressed for family photos. So I can't even show you what I plan on wearing this weekend as we celebrate Christmas. Nope. Chances are I will be decked in my polar bear onesie, without a care in the world.
So I thought it would be fun to show you what we wore for Christmasses past, when I used to get fancy (or when my mom made me).
[caption id="attachment_8524" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] I loved this plaid skirt and vest with bow. Also...I would totally wear my Grandma's poofy turtleneck right now. And aunty Chris...head to toe loepard?! Love it.[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_8532" align="aligncenter" width="683"] This is one of my fave Cmas pictures, and I adore her plaid midi skirt.[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_8533" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] My cousin Renee and I in our matching handmade sywashes. I still have mine.[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_8535" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] The year Grams made us all blankets in our favourite colours. Love that lady; she gave the most thoughtful, heartfelt gifts.[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_8534" align="aligncenter" width="684"] My sister was the queen of dresses and poses...I wonder where Kinsey gets that from now.....I used to sit on that coffee table and stare out that picture window on Christmas Eve, watching to Rudolph's nose in the sky. Looking back, that was likely just a tactic by my parents to keep me out of their hair. Touché.[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_8537" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Now I miss my dark hair. But that's not the point...seeeee pajamas.à[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_8539" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Grams always was dressed up nicely in Christmas colours.[/caption]
You know, after looking back on these pictures I've been inspired by the beautiful women in my life to get all gussied up this Christmas. Don't you always feel awesome when you're done up to the nines? What will you be wearing this Christmas?

So funny, I saw your dark hair and was like, hey I like it dark, and then you wrote, I miss my dark hair, hehe. We get all dressed up for Christmas dinner, we've always done it, and I guess I just carried on the tradition when I started hosting Christmas. But you're right you always feel like it's more of a special occasion when you get all dressed up. I actually found my outfit on SheIn this year...yay!
ReplyDeleteThat plaid midi skirt is amazing. I would totally rock that skirt if it was in my closet.
