So, this week, the white pant, hey? My white pants are hidden high in the confines of my closet because snow, mud, white pants and Saskatchewan isn't a combo one would normally put together. But in the spirit of awesome and because spring is knocking at our door, I decided to take them out and put them back into the rotation. Why not. I really like the some of the white looks I've seen with whites paired with creams and have seen some really beautiful looks put together by bloggers (see All the Cute here and Doused in Pink's here) Also- they are both Chicago based bloggers...interesting. I then decided that my white look would be an homage to the coming of spring. And also the Blue Jays, because I can. And I did try to take some pictures outdoors but failed miserably. Let me explain.....

I just wasn't happy with those pictures. Mostly because it was one of those days where EVERYTHING is going wrong and there was a creepy guy with a hugeass camera in camouflage taking pictures of birds, and he was creeping me out, so I had to give up my photoshoot and get other errands done instead. When I got home, I felt inspired, having just changed some of our house décor to look more springy. So I staged a spring photo shoot in our great room and had a blast doing it. A little bit about my outfit inspiration first. I was watching my current fave show, Jane the Virgin and loved this outfit that Petra sported. Actually, come to think of it, I love the grey and white that Jane is wearing too. Some other time....in the meantime, I attempted to create Petra's blue and white (as a side note, we refer to this colour as Christy Blue because of what Christy always wears)

My look:

Outfit details: Blue top- Vince Camuto @ Nordstroms. White jeans are Kut from the Kloth @ Nordstroms. Flats are Audrey Brooke @ DSW and the cardi is a find from Zulily
And because everything is old and unfindable, here's what I would get now if I was going to recreate the look:

You are such a doll!! LOVE the royal blue and wrap and can we talk cute flats!!! The pic in front of the fire place looks like it should be on the cover of a home and fashion magazine....so darling!
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh. I love your first round of photos, but the ones with the Christy Blue shirts are my faves. Also your hair is on point (or is it fleek that the kids are saying these days?) #imold
ReplyDeleteLove Jane the Virgin too! you look great in white pants!! Love these looks...and your picture game rocks...so many great poses!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAlso I want that plaid coat!! LOL
ReplyDeleteyou look fantastic in white pants!! and with the cobalt, BEAUTIFUL!! Also, let's discuss those floral flats?! I need them in my life.
ReplyDeleteSimply Shaunacey
Love the white pants on you, and that blue shirt, so pretty! You have the best jackets/coats/sweaters. I've been looking for some floral flats but was on the fence with them, but I think you just pushed me over the fence and I'm fully on board :)
ReplyDeleteI need to take photography lessons from you. I love everything about this outfit - you are gorgeous in Christy blue & white pants. Also, I want your plaid jacket. And now I've added floral flats to the Vegas shopping list.
ReplyDeleteYour photos look great! And I am loving the blue and white on you :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the varied looks here with the white pants! It's definitely tough to wear white in the slushy winters of Chicago! Hopefully, though, spring keeps pulling through. The weather is supposed cool down for a week or so... and that makes me sad, because I've been loving the 60 degree days...but maybe we'll get lots of 60s and 70s into April!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning me! I'm so glad you loved my look! Prior to that Chic Neutrals post, I haven't worn white denim jeans in foreverrrr (like maybe 10 years?) and I started loving them again in late summer of last year... so I bought the pair over the winter and cannot wait to wear them with some other styling ideas!

Deena - you look great in both looks! Your first picture has such a softness to it - and I can't believe you didn't have the top clicks last week because that shades of pink picture (and outfit) was awesome!

Absolutely love the first one! Mukluks are the best! I also want some of those flowered flats. So fun!
ReplyDeleteThose printed flats are SO cute! I have white shorts and white capris... now I totally want full length pants too.
ReplyDeleteI love both your outfits and your outdoor shots. Boo to the creepy bird guy.
ReplyDeleteOh shoes, how I love thee....
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you don't have one!
ReplyDeleteI like to pretend I know what I'm doing...
ReplyDeleteTotes on fleek. I had my grade 12s explain it to me. Funny you say that, I didn't like my hair in that shoot.
ReplyDeleteThanks and I'm super duper very much happy to see you participating!
ReplyDeleteWe can strike up some poses in 4 weeks!
ReplyDeleteAlso, just like Shaunacey. Vegas here we come.
ReplyDeleteVegas. On the list.
ReplyDeleteSOOOO, I had to google what 60 F was...very nice! We had a couple days like that last week which made me think I could do the white look. And now we're blanketed in snow. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI think people are scared of cold. Like how I wore white pants and then it snowed everywhere, I totally get it, I usually only click on sunshiney pictures too :)
ReplyDeletehe even had a towel over his head. Soooo creepy.
ReplyDeleteOne can never have enough white...or printed flats..or shoes for that matter. I need to re-add your blog to my feedly feed, it disappeared after your switch over :(
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing about you and Mukluks is how you baby yours :) WOMAN, where are your fashion posts. Patterns and neutrals next week, you can totally do this.
ReplyDeleteYeah I was wondering how many people that affected. I read all of my blogs on Bloglovin so that doesn't really affect me unless someone doesn't have Bloglovin... and I have yet to meet a blogger who doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI need some flats in a bad way. Hopefully I'll find something cute soon.
LOVE! You have inspired me too. I have a top in this shade of blue which now makes me want to wear it with my white jeans and fun shoes. I need some fun shoes!
ReplyDeleteMe loves some Christy Blue, so of course I love the last outfit. Although you look kind of creepy staring in the flower vase. Did you spend too much time with the bird guy during the photo shoot?
ReplyDeleteDo it Jordan, do it! Deena is bossy so you better listen.
ReplyDeleteI haaaate it when they are other people around during a shoot- which is problematic, since I shoot on my front porch and my neighborhood always has a dog-walker/runner/family on bikes passing by!

Um wow! Love your living room and your outfit! Super jealous of those amazing windows and sunlight! Cobalt and white were made to be paired together!
ReplyDeleteYou wear cobalt so well! I only have one top in a cobaltish shade. Will have to try this look! (Your hair is getting so long! Sarah's going to be able to do so much with it!)
ReplyDelete~Sheila
Can I just say how jealous of all the natural light in your house? And the camera toting bird watcher sounds way creepy. Doesn't he know only one camera toting person is allowed in an area? :)
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely outfits. I love dressing up or down my white pants when I can too.

You have styled white pants so nicely. That olive plaid coat is cute and retro - love it. And I love the chevron kimono cardigan. Well done!
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's weekend and thank you for linking up with me! Ada. =)
Let's go on the hunt for them in Vegas!
ReplyDeleteYES! I get so insecure all of a sudden, until I convince myself that I just look like a photog, setting up a location and checking the lighting.
ReplyDeleteHa- I was looking at my cell phone because I was actually taking the pictures from it. Love technology!
ReplyDeleteThanks- it's nice to have daylight again for indoor pictures. And yes to nobody around. I can't even have the kids in the same room.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be putting Sarah to work! Coming with bobbypins!
ReplyDeleteI need to start taking pictures more indoors and optimizing on the daylight. The windows are my favourite thing in our house! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI love the plaid coat too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI take the windows for granted..with all the dark over winter it is so nice to have light again!
ReplyDeleteThe cobalt and white look amazing together! I really like the addition of your chevron poncho, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday! Hope to see you back next week.
