Grad looks

Grad looks, you say? The ladies on the Blended Blog are keeping me honest and thinking fashion.  But this week is grad looks and I am no longer in a high school where it is annually celebrated. So I thought I would have some fun and dig into the archives.

Seriously what's the difference between grad and prom?

I went to grad in grade 11 with my then boyfriend.  I think I wore a second hand dress and white gloves and really bad shoes.
In grade 12 I dressed as a disco ball with matching (dyed) gloves and shoes.  I actually loved that dress despite the .....loudness....

I would love to spend an afternoon with 18 year old me. I would love to slap her for thinking she was fat or for caring what others thought of her.  I was seriously so happy to go to University where I didn't feel the pressure to go out and maintain my 'status'.

My sister and brother are 4 and 6 years younger than me and graduated from the high school that I was teaching at the time.  I couldn't find any pictures from my sister's grad but had plenty from my brother's.

I wish I could go back to 2003 and give myself some fashion advice.  I totally wasn't dressed for my body type. That dress is horrible.

Luckily my style has changed since I started teaching or graduated for that matter.....but maybe not? I looked back out of curiosity on my blog and two years ago we did a graduation post...and I kinda cringed when I looked at those pictures of my dress picks.  You can see for yourself here.  I also can't handle my hair colour, which makes me sad because I am really going gray and don't know how long I can pull off the dark.
But I love the dark. Sigh.

Here's a little of what I've been wearing as of late;

So there you go, a bunch of pictures so that in a couple years I can look back and roll my eyes at what I was wearing :)

  2. Wouldn't it be nice to go back and speak to our younger selves? I feel the same way, I look back and think - girl, was that make up off, wear a better bra, dress for your body not how everyone else is! Ha!!! I loved seeing your pictures - I think you look like a total babe in that sequin dress with the gloves!!!
