A Kinda Christmas Fashion Tale

Things are coming up fuzzy vests

It might be the sunshine and plus temperatures around here, or perhaps it's the calm after the parenting storm from the weekend, but things are coming up roses this week.   Well, in the parenting world, anyway. Willis has been a superstar since our blowout on Sunday.  Naturally, of course he is. He really is a wonderful kid that just has to learn lessons the hard way.  I spent a day with my sister yesterday and she pointed out that he has kinda always been like that and I'm sure if I were to page through the archives of this blog, I would find similar posts going all the way back.  Cute quick story---- I told Willis that each night we'd be going over his behaviour and if he was making good choices, he could start earning back the content of his bedroom.  Well Monday was great, so he got two things.  He picked a book and his dry-erase calendar and yesterday morning when he was putting it back up on the wall, he was singing a song "you can do it, Willis" to Lucia.  Way too cute.  Last night he got back two things and picked a lamp and his ball sign.  Funny choices, I thought for sure he'd be making a bee-line for his books or 3DS.

Isn't it funny how simple good behaviour and some sunshine can turn a day around.  I have been feeling really good this week and I think it is because I haven't worn a jacket in the car.  I know, sounds silly, but for someone who spends a lot of time in her car- I hate wearing a jacket.  Yesterday was so beautiful that I decided to sport my new fun vest (that meows whenever Jamison pets it, odd).  I got tons of compliments and honestly felt really good in it.  I think because it is right inline with my personal crazyass style and was meant to be mine.

Since being out of the classroom, the bags under my eyes have started to disappear (imagine that) and my skin has been clearing up- but then again, I have also just been working out in the morning and doing the "sweaty glow" look all day.  Braids make me feel fancy, even though they are also awesome for running.  So that pretty much sums up my current look.

Here's to winning at the parenting game, feeling good in the sunshine and melty snow, and enjoying some simplicity this month.  Which, by the way is my monthly goal.  I'm trying to do less and just enjoy the moments.  Maybe that's what I'll post about on Friday. Who knows. I like not having a plan and just downing a glass of wine and typing what's on my mind.

Crazy vest.   Vince Top.  Express distressed Jeans.  Hush Puppies boots (old).

  14. Woohoo for the parenting win!!!!! I had a good parenting day yesterday as well, must be the sunshine and warm temperatures. Love that VEST! Smokin' hot. Okay, now I have to tell you that just this morning after my run I looked in the mirror and the bags under my eyes are at their worst and I have had a total breakout on my face. March=teachers worst nightmare (along with December). LOL.

  15. The title of this post is awesome. And the vest is totally you. I love the way you wear it. Also I love the braids. I wish my hair was thicker. I would only have about 48 strands per braid if I did that. Will that vest meow around me too?

  16. So glad to read this update after worrying over you and Willis all day today. Parenting...the hardest job you'll ever love.
That vest and your little braids are so earth mother-ish. Love how your outfit is complemented by the patchy melty snow in the background. Almost like you are one with that lovely landscape.
