The Top 10 of our trip: the kids' highlight reel of Toronto and NiagaraFalls

I have a lot I want to share about our trip to Toronto and Niagara Falls but today will just be the feedback from the kids in the form of the top 10 plays of the week from our highlight reel:

  1.  Niagara Falls boat ride: The Hornblower- it was really neat getting right up into the falls (and getting quite wet).  This was one of Willis' faves...Lucia wasn't overly thrilled.

  2. The flight, specifically on his birthday.  The WestJet crew was especially awesome when they found out it was (in the early hours of) his birthday and announced it on the flight and then gave him a present.  #thelittlethingscount

  3. The SkyWheel on Clifton Hill in Niagara- notably on the third time around for Willis as he was scared the first part of it.  Lucia, on the other hand, loved every second of it....which isn't quite evident in this picture, oy.

  4. The glass floor in the CN Tower: Shaunacey and Dan steered quite clear of this area, whereas Willis and Lucia were jumping on it.  We waited 1.5 hours to stay up there for 10 minutes...regardless of that, it was a fun adventure with great company.

  5. Cozy hotel beds.  We stayed at the Sheraton on the Falls in Niagara and the Renaissance attached to the Rogers Centre in Toronto.  The kids wanted nothing more than to snuggle up in bed and sleep. Hey, I'm not complaining, I love a good snuggle and quiet time to read.

  6. The moving floor at the Ripley's Aquarium.  This was a favourite for all of us, despite the crazy amount of people.  They have a portion set up where you stand on a conveyor belt and go through an aquarium, with sharks, sting rays and other creepy fish swimming beside and over you. It was pretty cool- especially for how long you go.  Definitely worth it.  But book your tickets online so you don't have to wait in line.

  7. Getting 3 balls during the Jays' game.  This was definitely a highlight for me too.  Shaunacey and Brent had a friend who got us in to the Jays' batting practice.  It was amazing to watch them hit from right behind the cage, whilst standing on the field.  Josh Donaldson tossed Willis a ball, he also caught one of Cecilliani's foul balls and then Kevin Pillar (who sadly wasn't too friendly) came and signed his glove.  During the game we were sitting right behind the Rays' bullpen and the catcher also tossed Willis a ball.  I haven't seen him grin that big in a long time after that day!

  8. Pokémon Go with Shaunacey and Brent- both my kids loved my bloggie friend and her hubby and it was a blessing to get to spend time with them (and their adorable offspring).  They also got plenty of Pokétalk in with my cousins: Eric, Beth and Scott while we had a lovely visit in Oakville with my aunt and uncle.

  9. Seeing the Jays' win and Edwin do the Edwing- our first game was a victory and we had great seats right on the third base line.  Lucia's favourite part was hunting down Cotton Candy and talking about Cotton Candy and eating Cotton Candy.

  10. The Canadian Plunge at the Waterpark in Niagara, despite having to wait 20 minutes to use it.  I wasn't overly thrilled with this place- it was a miniature version of WestEd and they weren't super organized.  But the kids loved it, so we went twice.  The plunge was quite fun and the kids play area was really well done.

There you have it- the highlight reel of our trip from the kids' eyes.  You'll have to wait until Monday to get my full review!  Have a great weekend.

Sunshine inspired fashion

Today I'm showing you the first outfit I got on my trip to Scotland/England and it just happens to be in one of my favourite colours....yes, yellow.  I also put together some of my fave yellow picks on the interwebs for you in the above link.

I have posted a few of my fave yellow pieces before like the one with the blazer  or the one with the yellow shoes and jacket and then there is also this bag that I got in Vegas last year that always makes me swoon....

Anyway, I'm rambling....today's outfit is a dress, but you'll have to hop over to the Blended Blog to see it. Muahahahahha...here's sneak peak.

A blogger meet up in Toronto

It was like a weekend long blind date...... e-Harmony but for friends..... Possibly one of the craziest things I've done..... But I spent the weekend with 10 other women whom I met online. Well, except for my real life bestie on the far right. We have a group of 14 bloggers who have been collabing since the spring of 2014 and what first was simple blog fun has quickly become a sisterhood.   Last year we met in Vegas, this year we settled for Toronto and had 11 members.
Trip highlights include a bus trip with wine and Niagara Falls, a walking tour of downtown Toronto, plenty of great meals, a shopping adventure and rooftop hot tubs at night.  I could go into the details, but for me, the actual trip to Toronto wasn't why I went...the Jays weren't even playing. What brings me the most joy about this trip is the fact that women from all walks of life, all ages (we had 30, 40 and 50 somethings) with a gamut of different interests took a leap of faith and traveled to meet women…

London 1

Sunday/Monday was a blur.   It went from cruising around Toronto (that means shopping) with the little group of Blended Bloggers that were left over to heading to the airport to meet Dan and the kids then to an overnight flight to Dublin and then another 2ish hour flight to London.  At least the kids slept an hour or two, but I couldn't do it.   Currently in zombie mode.   When we got to our hotel (MalMaison Charterhouse Square) we had to nap. Well I had to anyway before I started losing it.   After an hour long family nap, Dan headed to work and I decided to take the kids out on an adventure in the neighbourhood.  We're only 850 metres from St. Paul's Cathedral and I hadn't visited it last time I was here so it was an easy pick. First I had to devise a plan to keep them engaged and because Pokemon is all they ever want, it was an easy bait.  The deal was that if they came and learned something with me, they got to have some Pokemon time in the area. It worked like a …
