I am approaching my 20 year high school reunion, meaning these beautiful pictures and outfits are becoming vintage. Okay, maybe I'm being dramatic but isn't almost comical how quickly time goes by? Sometimes I feel like the 18 year old in these pictures and you know what, if I was graduating this year, I would likely choose my dress again, I still love it. Definitely wouldn't wear the matching dyed gloves and shoes. Funny story, while prepping for this post I realized that I was missing a lot of my photos from when I took them out of their carefully curated albums to have them scanned. Sure enough, I discovered close to 300 pictures that didn't make it onto the disc. Thanks for the crappy service, Blacks. I guess I'm adding those pictures to my summer to-do list. In the meantime, feast your eyes on these badboys.....
Top row- my little bro! It's crazy how the difference in our age was so apparent and well now you'd never know. There's 6 years between us...why are there no pictures of Kyla and I at my grad...I feel like there was a reason for that. Mom? Do you remember? I would also like to point out my sweet, sweet Kelly in the picture next to Rob. We had matching dresses for our Graduation Tea. Ugh. I miss her.
Also- what's with this weird hand on my neck pose- I'm leaning in at such a strange angle. Thank goodness the days are gone of only having lame in store studios to get your pictures done. Also- I thought I would include a picture of my stunning friend, Alynne. I love that gal. And of course there is a picture of me and Christy at her grad- we went to school together from kindergarten- grade 9 and then went to separate high schools. I also loved both Alynne and Christy's dresses and would wear them again. Way to stick to the timeless wonders, ladies!
Today on Style Perspectives, we're talking a graduation look and while I won't be donning the fancy gown again, I do attend grad every year. In our high school we have the commencement exercises and mass in the mornings and that evening is the banquet with all the gowns. Teachers all go to the morning part and the banquet is optional, I' ll go when I have a group of kids I taught graduating, like this year. For the record, this is what I wore last year: romper + white vest.
I thought it would be fun to let you pick my dress for this year, obviously florals is what I'm trying this year. Oh wait, my romper last year was floral. Okay, so I like loud clothes.

Head over to the other ladies’ blogs and see how they styled this prompt! I loved last week's prompt of sneakers and a blazer and will definitely be repeating that one!

You look lovely in both. Now that I think about it, you do have a love of floral as I'm reminded of several items in that vein that I've seen you wear.
ReplyDeleteLOVE you florals so much and perfect grad dresses!! Oh the throwback pics make me smile. How precious and I love the dress, 1990's Hottie right there!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your throw back!! That hand on the face pose is the best thing of life :) Fantastic, plus those floral numbers are both pretty - like the peplum on the blue.
ReplyDeleteI love both dresses but the blue one is my fav!
ReplyDeleteThe throwbacks are brilliant, your poses kill me, I'm sure mine would be way way worse lol
Blue! Of course. How lucky you et to go every year. I'm jealous. Love a reason to dress up.
ReplyDeleteSo hard to pick! You look great in both of them, and I'm realizing now looking at this, I need more floral everything in my life. I think I have maybe 1 or two things that are floral...No I lie...I don't think I have any...at least none that I can think of. My pick is the blue one though, so pretty! :) And loving all of the old pictures. 20 years...I was just thinking I was coming up on mine too...yikes!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue one. And the shoes with it. Go with that one. I am wearing something old to our grad. Maybe even one of the dresses I bought in TO. I think I will have to purchase some new shoes to go with it, possibly. And I love that you and Kelly wore matching dresses. #besties
ReplyDeleteI love the floral romper! So fun! I love both of the dresses, but I think I'm voting blue!
ReplyDeleteThese flashback pictures are so fun! Sure, our formal dresses from back in the day are a bit outdated but I still love mine :) And I'm also glad you decided to talk about the teacher aspect too! Love that vest with the romper.
ReplyDeleteI love all your graduation pics. In one of my senior pics, I'm staring off into the distance holding a rose - what? Hard to decide on the dresses because they are both gorgeous - you will be beautiful in either one!
ReplyDeleteI love the look back!
ReplyDeleteI really like both options for this year, but I would probably go with the blue one.

Oh my gosh thanks for sharing these flashback pics!! How was "Glamour Shots" considered photography back in the day?! It was always so horrible the way they made people pose and the foggy blue background - ahhh nostalgia. I love both of your graduation looks but I'm most in love with that beautiful red floral dress. It looks awesome on you. :)

What an awesome reflection of your style from back in HS. You looked lovely at prom!!!
ReplyDeleteI wrote back to your comment about the apps I want to try... but I know not everyone goes back to read responses, so I figured I'd let you know on here, too!! I am planning to try Creative Cloud which includes apps like Photoshop and Illustrator. I am interested in graphic design... so we'll see where that goes! :o)

I love both of these dresses! But leaning towards the blue one a little more. You look beautiful then and now
ReplyDeleteOk, I might have voted twice because my favorite is trailing behind. I vote for the multicolor (red?) one. I know I don't KNOW you but to me, you look most comfortable and most like you in the multicolor one. Love the pockets. There's something about the way you are standing that just says that you feel comfortable and confident in it. But heaven knows, I can misread body language...ask my husbands. Just reminds me of how fab you looked in the picture on the couch...the yellow blazer one. Both dresses are beautiful and your dress from high school was quite elegant. No matter which you pick, you will rock it with style.
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage pics! I totally skipped my reunion. I even skipped my law school 10 year reunion. Haha. I saw enough of those people for 3 years!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the flashback photos. I love florals for Spring. Your choice last year was great. I vote for the dress on the right this year though the blue floral is pretty, too.
ReplyDeleteI am talking pretty dresses and skirts for Spring, in today's post too. Come check it out. I also mentioned florals are perfect for graduation. =) I gave you ladies of The Blended Blog a special shout-out and even featured some of you. ;-)

I love the blue one and did I somehow miss that you colored your hair? I think I need to go visit your IG and see if you've shared it. I love it! It's very Summer.
ReplyDeleteBaha ha! Gotta love a good throwback. Both are fantastic, I say flip a coin ;)!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard, I love both options! My gut says go for the blue. So pretty on you!
