Last week we did the coloured pants and red seems to be the go-to colour. Neat to see all the pictures together, thanks again to Lisa from Daily Style Finds for making our graphic. You'll have to head over to the Blended Blog to see which post had the most clicks in our link up.
This is a pretty tame look for me, but I had a purpose. I wanted to style a sweater I would actually wear in the spring- something lightweight and airy.
I purchased the sweater at a local store, Harper Clothing Co. and the jeans, yes a little crazy, but so I am, are from a local company as well, the White Dahlia. It's a simple outfit, with a little splash of my personality for this week.
The floral Dr. Martens are my favourite part.
But why do I still feel bored with this outfit? I think it's because when I hear Spring Sweater I think spring colours and florals, so for me to pick a cream sweater makes me feel like I let my style down......isn't it weird how you know when the outfit you put together isn't completely you? I guess that's when you know you have figured out what your signature style is. Maybe I should have added a necklace. Hmmmm.....I should quit rambling.

My first thought when I saw the photos was wow this is tame for Deena but I love love it on you. Also I noticed the length of your hair - woah. Clip ins? LOVE!!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of the sweater! I totally thing adding a necklace would be fun!
ReplyDeleteI think this is really cute, and the shoes pump it up. I'm so glad you bought those boots. Um, can we talk about your hair? Gorgeous! A preview look for Vegas, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteWhile the outfit is cute and simple, it definitely needs more of you! :)
ReplyDeleteAre you wearing extentions? I was with you when you bought the jeans!!! It is tame but classic. I like.
ReplyDeleteLoving your looks!! Very cute with the flats... or the boots!! Those boots are perfect for where I live... we're having a spring that's "trying to come." Chicago weather has been nuts and can't decide if winter wants to stick around... cold temps and rain... boo!!!

ReplyDeleteYour hair grows really fast.
You all did rock the red pants last week. A cream or oatmeal sweater says Spring to me. I too love the fun floral Dc. Martens.

NEW POST: WORKING (TRENDY) GIRL LOOK!
Love your hair here. And I know what you mean when a look doesn't feel like you...I couldn't do this challenge it wasn't working for me and I only have winter sweaters couldn't pull of a spring look with this lol. The second pic of you is my fave :)
ReplyDeleteNow that outfit looks like me, errr what I used to default to. I am trying to be less like me though. I do like the lightness of the sweater.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Tilted head, that's it!
ReplyDeleteLove those docs, very you! And Mini Fox might have a pair that look exactly like that. Your hair looks great! I like the lightness of the sweater, but I can see how you don't feel like you, it seems too neutral? Did that make sense?
ReplyDeleteI've really been trying to define my style lately but it can be difficult. It's good when you try something and can determine that it's NOT you :)
ReplyDeleteLove this whole look. We need to go shopping together again soon, lovely enabler. Also, you're gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteGreat look Deena!! Loving the hair as well...really beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteKILLED it!!! Can't wait til your my personal shopper next week!! lol

Your top is lovely - such a great neutral and it pairs so nicely with the jeans. I think it looks great as-is although I could see it working really well with a fun statement necklace too :)

Love those floral docs! They are so cute and really stand out with the neutral sweater!
ReplyDeleteSo used to seeing you in pattern that this look was a bit of a surprise. Great nubby texture and light weight on the sweater. I figured out what Doc Martens are when I looked at your feet. I don't get out much!
ReplyDeleteSOOSSOOSO excited.
ReplyDeleteyup, the sweater needs something else. Will have to play around.
ReplyDeleteHa- definitely!
ReplyDeleteThey make me smile
ReplyDeleteThey are my favourite!
ReplyDeleteI know right, super dull for a Deena outfit. Needs more crazy.
ReplyDeleteit's a date and right back at ya!
ReplyDeleteand very fake :)
ReplyDeleteHa- Lucia has a matching pair too! And it totally makes sense. I'm so not neutral.
ReplyDeleteFunny that you find it hard to define your own style, yet, when I look at the outfits you put together, I can see a definitely pattern of colourful whimsical spunk!
ReplyDeleteMerci!
ReplyDeleteThanks...I tried my extensions and they finally match the colour of my hair...but I've changed it since already. Oops.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour palette of this outfit!
ReplyDeletethey make me happy. I'm easily pleased.
ReplyDeleteHa- it's totally fake. GOT YA.
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by, will do your link up too!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely fake and I don't think it will match my new colour. Oy.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree.
ReplyDeleteSure am! and yes, you were with me. You got the crazy fun kimono.
ReplyDeleteWe must be having the same spring as you- anytime I wear flats out, it's like I jinx the weather and it sleets.
ReplyDeleteaw, thanks, ladies!
ReplyDeleteI would love to, thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeletebahahaha- love how you guys know my style after all these outfits. And yes, extensions..just cause.
ReplyDeleteI think so too. Will have to re-style this one.
ReplyDeleteAwesome :)
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of this outfit very much I can see it being a sweater I go-to on a days when I need to look put together but just don't feel overly creative or am in a rush. I am really crushing on your statement earnings. Did you happen to purchase them recently?
ReplyDeleteLove those floral Doc's! They are such a fun statement piece!

I hear you on the plain outfit. Sometimes I put one together and I'm like "eh" but wear it anyways, usually because I'm already late for work.
ReplyDeletehahaa.
ReplyDeleteI agree, definitely different.
