The changing of the hair.

I am not one to have the same hair style for a long period of time.  I grow it out just in time for me to be sick of it and then chop it off.  I cut bangs for a change and then get annoyed and want my hair the same length, or I'll start to grow out my bangs and get them to a good length, just to realize I want them short again.  And it doesn't just go for my cut, but I think the same would apply to my colour.  I've been blonde all the way to super dark, I've had streaks to one colour to ombrés and strange and wonderful colours.  Right now I am still loving the ombré style (easy upkeep) and am slowly going lighter (easier to hide my greys) but I've added some colour to my former blonde tips (rose gold.)

My hair style and colour, just like my shoes, are a form of creativity and I love trying new things.  A couple weeks ago, I was contacted by Mofain to see if I would write a post reviewing their site and their products, I was immediately intrigued because extensions are on my list of things I want to try.  I gave their website a look over and was pleased to see that, although based in China, they do provide free shipping and have lots of selection including hair weave and cheap full lace wigs.

I ended up having way more fun than I thought I would perusing the site.  There were so many things I had never heard of....a weft or a human hair weave ?

Here are the three looks that I would pick:

A wig.  I love wigs.  I would wear a wig every day if I could.  In fact, Halloween is my favourite because I love finding a new wig to wear.  This year I want to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, mostly also because of the red shoes.  I wish they had a Britney Spears wig, that would be my first choice, but in close second would be Scarlett Johannson because she seems like she's badass and well, she was married to Ryan Reynolds for 15 minutes. Swooon.

Next up would be a simple hair extensions (so that I don't have to keep growing my  hair out...which seems to take longer and longer to happen.) Gone are the days of pregnancy hormones when my hair would grow so fast, which is the only thing I miss from the pregnancy days of yore....nonetheless, I would like to have a cute bob but then a long style and because I'm not a Kardashian and can't have a stylist at my beckon call, extensions would be the next best thing.

Lastly, I would pick something fun, like these colourful ombré extensions.  I have been coveting anything that's in the grey-blonde hues, and throw in some lavender with it and I want.  This would be a fun look to try.

For some more hair inspiration, click on the pictures to visit the Mofain site and tell me, if you could change your hair in a heartbeat, what would you do?

While today's post was sponsored by, all opinions are my own and I am truly contemplating my next style. Again.

  1. I think it would be fun to have some color extensions to add in colored streaks for date night or going out with the girls. These are a great nonpermanent option!

  2. Extensions would be so fun to play with. I hate committing to doing something to my hair so it not being permanent would be AWESOME!

  3. ohh love that grey/lavender extension! I'm the same way with hair usually but am forcing myself not to cut. If I could change my hair on a whim though It would be that medium bob thing everyone is rocking these days with a grey blonde.

I would love to just wear wigs....and have my hair already done for me!!

  5. OH love the grey extensions, I love extenstions! Although I think I need to get mine cut, they are a little too long! But they are fun to have more hair to play with.

  6. I seriously want to try extensions... just the cool clip in ones because I can't commit to actually having something attached to my head lol

    Simply Shaunacey

  7. I love your creativity expressed through your hair Deena! I noticed your locks are getting long! You could totally rock these looks!

  8. Olivia Wilde was on the Daily Show I think it was a few weeks ago promoting her new show and I loved her hair and if i could i would do it in a heartbeat. It was ombre and long and just perfect but nearly impossible for my thick as hell hair and my inability to do very much stylistically. Alternatively, I would love to cut my hair into a pixie cut and colour it like lavender or something but I don;t have the courage or the style to do that either. Good on you for taking so many risks with your hair - I envy you!

  9. My hair is so boring, I just leave it the same all the time. About 5 years ago, when I decided I wanted long hair ago. I bought a full set of clip-in hair extensions. I had to order them on-line, and they were beautiful. They were pretty easy to put in and take out but I just didn't use them enough, too busy in the mornings to put them in. Have fun!

  10. I agree, the problem is is that I always get impatient and don't put them in the right way and then they look ridiculous.

  11. Agreed....I like change so much that a clip on would probably be a good thing for me

  12. I would do the exact same with mine!

  13. WAIT. You have extensions in???

  14. Yes! I would be all over that!

  15. I will have to google her hair is annoyingly thick too, which is one of the reasons I have been shying away from extensions..more hair on this mop? No thank yoU!

  16. They are getting there, but I'm also getting to that point where I am eyeing up those bobs and coveting them way too much.

  17. I love that you ordered them online...I did that too with a Jessica Simpson line and ended up getting this strange cap that I have no clue how to wear.

  18. Your hair always looks so great. Mine has been the same forever, with slight variations on how many layers I have or how long my bangs are. I'm so boring :)!

  19. OH no, not all the time, just the clip in ones that I have! Although those extensions that you showed would be fun if you had short hair!

Sunshine inspired fashion

Today I'm showing you the first outfit I got on my trip to Scotland/England and it just happens to be in one of my favourite colours....yes, yellow.  I also put together some of my fave yellow picks on the interwebs for you in the above link.

I have posted a few of my fave yellow pieces before like the one with the blazer  or the one with the yellow shoes and jacket and then there is also this bag that I got in Vegas last year that always makes me swoon....

Anyway, I'm's outfit is a dress, but you'll have to hop over to the Blended Blog to see it.'s sneak peak.

A blogger meet up in Toronto

It was like a weekend long blind date...... e-Harmony but for friends..... Possibly one of the craziest things I've done..... But I spent the weekend with 10 other women whom I met online. Well, except for my real life bestie on the far right. We have a group of 14 bloggers who have been collabing since the spring of 2014 and what first was simple blog fun has quickly become a sisterhood.   Last year we met in Vegas, this year we settled for Toronto and had 11 members.
Trip highlights include a bus trip with wine and Niagara Falls, a walking tour of downtown Toronto, plenty of great meals, a shopping adventure and rooftop hot tubs at night.  I could go into the details, but for me, the actual trip to Toronto wasn't why I went...the Jays weren't even playing. What brings me the most joy about this trip is the fact that women from all walks of life, all ages (we had 30, 40 and 50 somethings) with a gamut of different interests took a leap of faith and traveled to meet women…

London 1

Sunday/Monday was a blur.   It went from cruising around Toronto (that means shopping) with the little group of Blended Bloggers that were left over to heading to the airport to meet Dan and the kids then to an overnight flight to Dublin and then another 2ish hour flight to London.  At least the kids slept an hour or two, but I couldn't do it.   Currently in zombie mode.   When we got to our hotel (MalMaison Charterhouse Square) we had to nap. Well I had to anyway before I started losing it.   After an hour long family nap, Dan headed to work and I decided to take the kids out on an adventure in the neighbourhood.  We're only 850 metres from St. Paul's Cathedral and I hadn't visited it last time I was here so it was an easy pick. First I had to devise a plan to keep them engaged and because Pokemon is all they ever want, it was an easy bait.  The deal was that if they came and learned something with me, they got to have some Pokemon time in the area. It worked like a …
