Comforting things

The sister is 30!

This weekend we gathered as a family to celebrate Kyla's 30th bday.  Now if you know Kyla, you'll likely know that she's quiet, somewhat shy, perhaps even an introvert.  She doesn't like being the center of attention and therefore ky-boshed our bigass plans.  So we kept it as simple as we could and I must say it was a meaningful celebration for a beautiful person in our life.

First off I want to thank everyone who took some time to send me a video message.  She was in tears during the presentation which isn't surprising.   Her nickname, Kryla, suits her for a reason.  I enjoyed putting this together and see how much love there is for that sister of mine.

Saturday we celebrated with a girl trip to walk the mall (our favourite) and then we were treated to some beautiful weather and spent some time playing in the backyard.  Our evening was capped off with a late formal supper put on my Mother Hubbard.  Sunday we had Papa Pockets, Aunty Chris and Uncle Lionel in for a brunch and a visit and then ended the weekend over a pizza and beer supper and watching the Amazing Race.  It was a fantastic weekend.

As for my sister; I am blessed.  I am lucky to call her friend.  I am grateful for every minute I have with her.  I admire her, I love her and I know that my life has been enriched simply by having her in it.

Happy Birthday, sister.  You are loved.

Here are some of the best photos from the weekend:
