30 days of getting to know my siblings

Over the past 30 days, every morning I have waited in anticipation to see how my siblings would answer their question of the day.  Would I learn something new? Would my brother make me laugh? Would one of them make me cry?  All of that and more has happened over these last 30 days.  And, we have enjoyed it so much that we are going to start again on a 40-day journey over Easter.  More questions, laughter and wonder are waiting in store for us.

I have been fortunate enough in my life to be blessed with a wonderful family and the most amazing siblings. I really do not exaggerate on that.  I consider my siblings as my friends and couldn’t ask for anything greater than that in life.   Deena, Rob and I are really close.  Yes, we have had our fair share of fights and arguments but I don’t think I have had a fight with one of them since I was in my teens.  Deena and I live a block apart and we either talk or see each other everyday.  Everyday.  We even Skype each other.  Rob sadly lives in Brooks (anyone want to offer him a job so that he can move to Saskatoon??) but we talk almost every day as well.  If I miss a day not talking or texting him, something feels off.  Kinsey loves to Skype her Uncle Rob, I think she smiles the most for him (and who wouldn’t?).

I can’t say that I really learned anything new about Deena and Rob. I feel like I know my sibling really well.  Though I didn’t learn anything new per say, I did start to understand who they were and what inspires them in life.   While we each answered our questions, I saw the softhearted and loving side of Rob, and the truthful and funny side of Deena.  Those are sides of my siblings I love so dearly.

In pretty much two months Deena, Rob and I will be leaving on our trip to Scotland.  Nothing excites me more then having the once in a lifetime chance to take a trip with just Deena and Rob.  Travelling with someone offers the opportunity to really get to know who he or she is.  We will be pretty much spending 7 days together 24/7, something we haven’t done since we all lived a home.   I know that those 7 days will be filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations and just the pleasure of spending time together.  It is our chance to catch up and enjoy once again some quality family time over a pint of Tennents beer.

“To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.”

Rob and Kyla didn't read each other's blogs until after they had sent them to me.
What are the chances that they both used the same quote??!!
